This convention will work on the principle of one member, one vote, so all members in good standing will be credentialed as delegates. You must register as a new member of the Green Party of Michigan 60 days (June 4) before the convention, or renew delinquent membership by 7 days (July 27) before the convention, to be credentialed as a delegate. The convention will consist of county caucuses for those counties that have not previously held local caucuses, and nominations of state-wide or multi-county district candidates. The regular State Membership Meeting (SMM) sessions will follow the convention. If you wish to vote at the SMM business sessions, to be held at the same venue and on the same weekend, you must also have attended at least one other state membership meeting in the past four quarters (Aug 01, Nov 01, Feb 02, May 02) to have voting rights. You may apply to Meeting Manager Dawn Wolfe for voting rights at the SMM sessions based on your previous activities in the party. See the Website and/or contact Dawn Wolfe for details.

Note: There will be a limited amount of time for proposals and other regular GPMI business on Sunday; the entirety of Saturday will be devoted to caucuses and selection of candidates. Proposals will be accepted on a first-come, first-included basis until the allotted time for regular business (approximately 3 hours) has been filled. The agenda that will be posted and sent in July will be a tentative agenda, with changes/additions/deletions accepted until July Friday, July 19th, 2002 by email or postal mail. The final agenda that emerges from this process will be brought before the attendees for approval as the first order of convention business.
Directions, maps and the tentative meeting agenda will be posted on our Website and sent to members the first week of July 2002.
