Subject: [migreens-business] SQM accommodations
Below are three motels where rooms are "blocked."
Please contact me if you want to attend....then contact
one of the motels below to reserve a room (they'll want
a credit card to confirm reservation.) Then, let me
know if/when you've done such. IF you want room-
mates...also advise me, but please try to find such
on your own. (I can't be a full-time roommate "coordi-
nator" but will keep list and post on these listserves
regularly and try to hook you up).
Again...you, or someone in your "group" will be
responsible for contacting one of the below motels,
or any motel, and make your own arrangements and
reservations/payment. Rooms are blocked for two nights....
Friday, May 18th and Sat. the 19th. No problem if
you're staying Sunday.....Sunday nights, in fact, will
likely be cheaper than Fri or Sat. These motels, and
others, may well have more vacancies as May rolls
around but, as I mentioned....they're going to be
pretty full! (When you contact below.... tell them you
want a "Green Party" room that's blocked off.)
And...for our planning purposes, let me/Dawn know if
you're attending regardless of any accommodation
plans you make.
(Of below motels.... Heritage a few $ higher, but
has a continental breakfast of sorts. Heritage &
Pine Crest seem to offer more amenties and, per-
haps quieter than
Grand Traverse, but rooms generally the same. All
on main lakeshore highway from TC going east.
known as Front St. and Munson Ave. (M-37/72/US31).

east of junction where M-37 turns north up the Old
Mission Peninsula. 1-800-938-0105.

Pine Crest Motel... 360 Munson. (Near above, but

Grand Traverse Motel.... 1010 E. Front St. Approx.
1 mile west of above....west of M-37 junction.
You'll hit this first going from
Trav. City heading east toward M-37/Old Mission

(By the way.... main SQM venue...Saturday morning......
(registration starting 9:30 am).... easy to access.
Just drive up Old Mission Peninsula.....stay on M-37..
DO NOT go off side road...unless you want to ex-
plore. Nice, scenic drive.
Where M-37 breaks off north from M-72/US-31,
at base of Old Mission Peninsula....go approx. 16
miles...north. You'll hit an intersection...Old Mission
Road....stay on M-37 for another mile...you'll hit
Swaney Road. TURN RIGHT ON SWANEY headed
east. 1 mi further.....you'll see body of water ahead.
On left is larger, low, while building...w/American
flag flying. This is the American Legion Hall...our
main home for two days. Parking on left.....you can't
miss it. If parking lot full, park on grass on right side
(water side) of the building.
If you turn right @ Old Mission Rd..no problem. It
will curve left and dead end at Swaney Rd. Just take
a right on Swaney and you'll soon hit the Legion Hall
as noted above.

(For those interested in attending the State
Quarterly Meeting, and thinking about camping..
Large state park in/near east side of
Trav. City....(231) 922-5270..for inf/reservations.
If full, ask them parks in area (Interlochen, etc.)
State forest campgrounds... Traverse
City Forest Mgmnt Unit.... (231) 922-5280.
(Arbutus No. 4 10 miles from Trav. City)
If above doesn't "work" private campgrounds
in area.....NO camping on Old Mission Peninsula.

info you need......
